Today, we are thrilled to announce our latest project, Blockbuster Inc, a game where you’ll have the opportunity to build and manage your very own movie studio! This announcement is particularly special for us, as it marks the first time that we, at Ancient Forge, are venturing into the world of publishing.

Our journey with Blockbuster Inc began when the talented developer, Super Sly Fox, reached out to us. They expressed their admiration for our work and proposed a collaboration on their new game. After getting a glimpse of Blockbuster Inc., we were instantly captivated by its unique gameplay and potential. Recognizing the similarities between our games, the philosophy behind our design, and the creative opportunities it presented, we eagerly agreed to join forces on this exciting project.

Blockbuster Inc. offers players the chance to immerse themselves in the world of cinema, constructing their movie studio from the ground up, scouting for upcoming stars, and producing groundbreaking films and TV shows. Much like The Tenants, this single-player management sim emphasizes creativity, decision-making, and resource management, all while navigating a competitive industry.

What sets Blockbuster Inc apart is its freeform construction system, an intuitive and deep mechanic that allows you to plan, build, decorate, and expand your studio with ease. The game also spans the history of cinema, with each passing decade affecting the gameplay and visuals accordingly. Managing unique employee types and controlling various aspects of film and TV production adds another layer of depth and engagement to the experience.

As our first published game, Blockbuster Inc signifies a big step forward for Ancient Forge. It embodies our commitment to delivering unique and immersive gaming experiences while expanding our horizons as a company.
